A Sheep amidst the Wolves
Vinny Haddad

Coerced into an eerie baptism at a local pond, a sardonic twenty year-old discovers that he was the result of a virgin birth and deemed to be the long-awaited successor to Christ, leading him down an existential nightmare of how to 'be the savior.'

This controversial novel, "A Sheep Amidst the Wolves," is told from the cynical perspective of a nameless savior, who is confessing the events of the week that he came to understand his undesirable role in God's plan. Despite his constant reassurances to the "embryonic disciples" reading his words that he tried his hardest, the audience receives disturbing dreamlike interjections at the beginning of each chapter that reveal the savior may have not made all the best choices during this week of revelation. After reading an uncanny letter from his long deceased father that confirms his mysterious origins, the perplexed and exasperated narrator embarks on his compulsory quest to save people. After reluctantly trying his hand at saving people from their own mistakes in the modern world, he makes discoveries about himself and the people around him. Through the piercing insights of Styles, a distrustful gas station attendant, and Otter, a drunken homeless man, the nameless savior discovers the disturbing truth about his role in saving people.
